Galvez, Dizon now fully vaccinated against COVID-19

National Task Force Against COVID-19 chief implementer Carlito Galvez Jr. and his deputy Vince Dizon are now fully vaccinated against the coronavirus.

Both Galvez and Dizon received their second dose of Sinovac vaccine on March 29, the officials said at a Palace press briefing on Tuesday.

The two officials were among the first recipients of the Chinese-developed vaccine when the Philippines began its national immunization campaign on March 1.

Galvez told reporters that he had experienced “stronger side effects” after receiving the second dose.

“But the doctor said it’s good that there were side effects like you feel sleepy. This means the vaccine is working,” he said.

Dizon said he had a similar experience as well.

“I felt sleepy,” he said. “But I have not experienced [other side effects] since then.”

Galvez said the vaccination boosted his confidence although he remains cautious given that the COVID-19 virus had killed more than 13,800 people across the country. — DVM, GMA News
