Duterte accepts Parlade's resignation from NTF-ELCAC

President Rodrigo Duterte has accepted the resignation of Lieutenant General Antonio Parlade, Jr. as one of the spokespersons for the government's anti-insurgency task force, the Palace said Thursday.

"Tinanggap po ni Presidente ang resignation ni General Parlade as spokesperson ng NTF-ELCAC," presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said.

NTF-ELCAC is the National Task Force in Ending Local Communist Armed Conflict.

"That [acceptance of resignation] was confirmed to me by [Defense] Secretary [Delfin] Lorenzana," Roque added.

Prior to his resignation, Parlade was criticized over his comments linking groups critical to government and organizers of community food pantries to communists and terrorists groups. —LBG, GMA News
