“Only eight manifested their intention to attend the SONA physically. The rest will be virtual,” he told reporters in a virtual interview Thursday.
Aside from Sotto, the following senators will personally hear Duterte’s address at the Batasang Pambansa Complex:
- Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri
- Senator Ronald dela Rosa
- Senator Sherwin Gatchalian
- Senator Christopher Lawrence Go
- Senator Imee Marcos
- Senator Ramon Revilla Jr.
- Senator Francis Tolentino
The lawmakers and their staff members attending the event are required to present their vaccination cards, indicating that they were vaccinated two weeks prior to the President’s SONA.
On top of that, they are required to undergo RT-PCR swab test two days before SONA Day.
After yielding a negative result in RT-PCR test, the lawmakers are required to undergo another antigen COVID-19 test on Monday which will be conducted by the Presidential Security Group inside the Batasang Pambansa Complex.
The lawmakers will be provided with PSG-prescribed face masks and face shields embedded with QR codes.
