House OKs bill granting night shift differential to gov't employees
The House of Representatives on Monday approved on third and final reading the proposed measure seeking night differential pay to government employees.
House Bill 9458 or An Act Granting Night Shift Differential Pay to Government Employees Including Those in Government-Owned or Controlled Corporations and Appropriating Funds Therefore obtained 225 affirmative votes.
The measure aims to recognize the dedicated and loyal service of government personnel.
One of the key provisions is that government employees, including those in government-owned or controlled corporations with Salary Grade 1 to 24, are entitled to receive night shift differential.
It aims to give a night shift differential at a rate not exceeding 20% of the hourly basic rate of the employee for each hour of work performed.—AOL, GMA News
