Ospital ng Sampaloc reaches full capacity for COVID-19 cases


The Ospital ng Sampaloc announced that it had reached full capacity for COVID-19 patients.

In a statement, the hospital said as of August 28, 10 a.m., it could no longer accommodate COVID-19 cases needing hospital admission.

"[T]his current surge has taken its toll on our institution," the hospital said in its statement.

"We urge everyone to practice caution in our daily interactions, adhere to our minimum safety requirements, and be responsible individuals of the community. Get vaccinated and take part in stopping this pandemic."

On Saturday, the Philippines reported an all-time high of 19,441 new COVID-19 infections, bringing the nationwide tally to 1,935,700.

The country's intensive care unit beds are already 74% occupied.

In Metro Manila, the occupancy rate for ICU beds was also at 73%. — DVM, GMA News
