ICU, ward bed occupancy for COVID-19 patients nationwide at high risk —DOH
The occupancy rate of intensive care unit beds in the National Capital Region (NCR) and across the country remains at high risk amid the COVID-19 pandemic, data from the Department of Health (DOH) showed Thursday.
Based on the latest bulletin, around 74% of the 4,200 ICU beds in the country are occupied while 73% of the 1,500 beds in NCR are in use.
Occupancy rate is considered "high risk" if it is more than 70% but less than 85%
Meanwhile, ward beds for COVID-19 patients are also considered high risk.
Data showed that 71% of the country’s 15,000 ward beds are occupied while 73% of the ward beds in NCR are being utilized.
Around 55% of the country’s 3,200 mechanical ventilators are in use while 60% of the 1,200 mechanical ventilators in the region are occupied.
