Arrest LTO fixers, PUV drivers with 'protection' stickers, Suansing asks PNP
Individuals wearing identification cards and T-shirts bearing the insignia of the Land Transportation Office but are not employees of the agency must be arrested, according to LTO chief Alberto Suansing. At the same time, he tasked the LTO law enforcers to apprehend drivers of public utility vehicles with LTO stickers pasted on their windshields. Suansing said some individuals claiming connection with LTO were selling LTO stickers to PUV drivers to serve as âprotectionâ from traffic violations. Upon learning about the presence of non-LTO personnel wearing LTO IDs and T-shirts to deceive unsuspecting LTO clients that they are connected with the agency, Suansing said he asked the Philippine National Police to apprehend them for the filing of appropriate charges. âMostly these are fixers operating at the LTO and using the agencyâs ID and shirts to dupe LTO clients," Suansing explained. He said he had ordered the recall of all LTO deputation so all IDs issued to non-LTO personnel were no longer valid. LTO employees must be wearing office uniforms, and not T-shirts, he said. - GMANews.TV
