Pediatric vax supply should be delivered already to LGUs —Marikina Mayor Teodoro
Marikina Mayor Marcelino Teodoro on Thursday appealed to the national government to deliver already the COVID-19 vaccine doses that will be used for pediatric vaccination to to local governments.
In a radio interview, Teodoro said the Marikina City government has already been preparing for the inoculation of people aged 12 to 17 years.
“Inaapela nga namin sa national government na sana ‘yung supply ng bakuna na puwedeng gamitin sa pediatric vaccination ay maipadala na sa LGU (local government units),” he said.

The Philippines started its vaccination of people aged 12 to 17 on October 15. The pilot is split into two phases: first, covering people aged 15 to 17; second, aged 12 to 14.
Initially, the pilot of vaccination for the age group covers eight hospitals under the Department of Health but only selected patients with specific comorbidities are included.
The vaccination was later expanded to 13 more hospitals under local government units.
However, Teodoro suggested to pursue the vaccination of “general population” since the national government is eyeing to reopen face-to-face classes. —KBK, GMA News
