Over 10,000 quarantine violators reported in NCR on Nov. 1 —PNP
A total of 10,230 violators were reported in the National Capital Region (NCR) on Monday, November 1, according to the Philippine National Police (PNP) on Tuesday.
The PNP also said that as of Monday, a total of 166,277 people have violated quarantine protocols in the NCR since the implementation of Alert Level 3.
According to the PNP, a daily average of 9,781 violators was being reported from October 16 to November 1.
Around 59% of the violators were warned, 34% were fined, while 7% faced other sanctions, the PNP said.
A total of 125,465 violators or 7,380 daily have violated minimum public health standards amid the COVID-19 pandemic. For curfew, a total of 39,947 violators or 2,350 daily were reported in Metro Manila.
A total of 865 who are not considered authorized persons outside residence (APORs) were also caught outdoors.
The NCR will be under Alert Level 3 from November 1 until 14.
Under this alert level, several establishments will be allowed to operate at 30% indoor venue capacity only for fully vaccinated individuals and 50% outdoor venue capacity, provided that all employees are fully vaccinated.
Curfew in Metro Manila has been shortened to 12 midnight to 4 a.m. starting October 13.
On Monday, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) chairperson Benhur Abalos said he has appealed to the Department of Health to reassess the NCR after a week and place it under Alert Level 2.
He said NCR mayors already made their vote regarding the easing of curfew in the region. According to him, a resolution on the matter will be issued in a day or two. —Joviland Rita/KBK, GMA News
