24 more COVID-19 cases bring PNP tally to 41,868
The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Tuesday reported 24 more cases of COVID-19 among its personnel, bringing the total number to 41,868.
In an update, the PNP said 41,274 have already recovered from the disease, while 471 are still active cases.
The death toll due to COVID-19 among PNP personnel remained at 123
On Friday, PNP chief Police General Guillermo Eleazar said around 89% or 199,362 of the PNP personnel were fully vaccinated against COVID-19, while over 21,000 or 10% are still waiting for their second dose.
Eleazar said only 1% of PNP personnel have yet to be vaccinated.
On Monday, the Department of Health (DOH) reported 3,117 new COVID-19 cases, the lowest daily infections reported since May 23, as eight laboratories failed to submit data on time.
According to the DOH, this brought the nationwide tally to 2,790,375 with 43,185 active cases. —Joviland Rita/KBK, GMA News
