More than 300K doses of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine donated by US arrive in Manila
A total of 301,860 doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine donated by the US government through the COVAX facility arrived in the Philippines on Monday night.
The vaccines were flown in via Air Hong Kong flight LD 456 which landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 past 10 p.m.
National Task Force Against COVID-19 head of strategic communications on current operations Assistant Secretary Wilben Mayor and Department of Health director Ariel Valencia were at NAIA to welcome the arrival of the vaccines.
They were joined by USAID health director Michelle Lang-Alli and UNICEF health specialist Carla Orozco.
Earlier this month, the Philippines received four shipments of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines, all government procured. These were delivered on November 5, November 6, November 10, and November 11.
Last month, the Philippines also received a donation of 1,546,200 doses of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine and 889,200 doses of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine from the US government through the COVAX facility. —KG, GMA News
