Sotto: Build, Build, Build is Duterte admin's biggest achievement, pandemic response biggest failure

For Senate President Vicente Sotto III, a vice presidential aspirant in the 2022 elections, the infrastructure program dubbed Build, Build, Build is the Duterte administration's biggest achievement.

On the other hand, the administration's supposedly slow response to the COVID-19 pandemic is its biggest failure.

“The biggest achievement, perhaps, is the Build, Build, Build program,” Sotto said in an ANC interview when asked about the most notable program under President Rodrigo Duterte's rule.

Asked to identify the administration's biggest failure, he said: “The delay in addressing the problem of the pandemic, perhaps.”

Duterte is set to step down from his post on June 30, 2022. He initially said he would retire from politics after his term ends, but eventually filed his certificate of candidacy for senator on the last day of substitution period for those running in the 2022 elections on Monday.
