NCRPO recovers firearm issued to ex-cop Nuezca

The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) recovered the firearm issued to now-dismissed Police Senior Master Sergeant Jonel Nuezca, who brutally killed his two neighbors last December 2020 following an argument.

Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police General Dionardo Carlos lauded the NCRPO in implementing “Bawi Operations” which led to the recovery of firearms issued to dismissed personnel.

“Thank you for doing your job well. The speedy recovery of the firearms is a testament to your dedication to your work,” Carlos said in a statement.

Based on the report on Wednesday, the NCRPO recovered four firearms including the one issued to Nuezca, who fatally shot a mother and son after an argument over a "boga" explosion and right of way last December 20, 2020.

The incident was caught on video and went viral on social media, sparking public outrage.

The dismissed policeman was convicted by the Tarlac court for two counts of murder last August 26.

The PNP said that Nuesca's firearm was not presented as evidence, saying “it does not fall under the jurisdiction of the court.”

Coordination with the Paniqui Municipal Police Station and the Tarlac City Forensic Unit led to the recovery of the weapon.

The NCRPO also recovered three firearms from other dismissed police personnel. — DVM, GMA News
