PNP COVID-19 cases reach 42,189

The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Saturday said the COVID-19 cases among its personnel went up to 42,189 after two new infections were reported.

Of this number, 66 are active cases, according to data from the PNP Health Service.

Nine cases have recovered, pushing up the total recoveries to 41,998.

The death toll meanwhile remained at 125.

On Friday, the Department of Health (DOH) said 863 new COVID-19 cases were recorded, marking the third consecutive day where fewer than 1,000 cases were reported. 

According to the DOH, active cases slightly decreased to 17,853 while the total case count rose to 2,830,387.

Total recoveries climbed to 2,764,517 with 791 new ones while 142 new fatalities pushed the death toll to 48,017. —KG, GMA News
