PNP COVID-19 cases climb to 42,191

Two new COVID-19 cases were recorded among Philippine National Police (PNP) personnel on Sunday, driving up its total tally to 42,191.

Of this number, 60 are active cases, data from the PNP Health Service showed.

Total recoveries increased by eight to 42,006.

Meanwhile, the death toll remained at 125.

On Saturday, the Department of Health recorded 899 new COVID-19 infections, making it the fourth consecutive day when less than 1,000 cases were reported. 

The DOH said active infections stood at 17,052.

Total recoveries climbed by 1,667 to 2,765,920 while 188 new fatalities pushed the death toll to 48,205. —KG, GMA News
