Robredo sounds alarm on fake photos putting her in a bad light

Vice President Leni Robredo on Sunday decried the manipulated photos circulating in social media in connection with her presidential bid in Eleksyon 2022.

In her Facebook post, Robredo shared poorly edited photos of a crowd colored with pink, which falsely claims that the vice president's supporters are not following social distancing.

Another fake photo purportedly showed Robredo working at a local market.

"Fake News Alert. Radical magmahal lalo na pag Linggo. Pero fake news ito at ang sama ng pagka photoshop," Robredo said, writing Fake News Alert in all caps.

(It is radical to love especially on Sundays. But this is fake news and the Photoshopped image was poorly done.)

"Obviously done to put us in a bad light. Hindi po tayo magpapatinag. Let us report posts like these. Sorry walang link. They were only sent to me," she added.

(We will not be fazed. I'm sorry there was no link.)

Last month, Robredo's daughter was also victimized by fake news after critics claimed that Aika Robredo's acceptance at Harvard Kennedy School must be revoked because her tuition was from corrupted government funds. Robredo denied these claims, saying her daughter is a full scholar. —Consuelo Marquez/KG, GMA News
