8 unlocated travelers from South Africa provided incorrect info —DOH

The eight travelers from South Africa who have yet to be located by authorities provided incorrect or incomplete information, the Department of Health (DOH) said Tuesday.

“Ang naging challenge natin dito, mali mali po 'yung detalye sa kanilang personal information sheet,” Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said in a radio interview.

(Our challenge here was that they provided wrong information on their personal information sheet.)

She earlier said the eight are part of the 253 travelers from South Africa who arrived in the Philippines from November 15 to November 29.

Vergeire said there were issues with the number provided by some of the missing travelers while others did not answer their phone.

“Meron po sa kanila na instead of the personal number na inilagay nila sa kanilang dokumento, ang numero ng ahensya na hindi pa namin na contact,” she said.

(Some of them, instead of putting their personal number, put the number of the agency, which we cannot contact yet.)

“Merong isa, kulang ng isang number sa numero na ibinigay, dalawa naman po tama ang numero, ngunit hindi ma contact, not answering,” she added.

(Another one had a missing digit, two provided their correct numbers but are not answering.)

Another traveler, meanwhile, did not provide his complete address.

Vergeire said it is already coordinating with the local government units as well as the Bureau of Quarantine.—AOL, GMA News
