Philippines' 356 new COVID-19 cases lowest since July 2020
The Department of Health logged only 356 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, bringing the country's total tally to 2,835,345.
This is the lowest daily number of cases recorded since July 2, 2020.
The new infections brought the country's active case count to 13,026, of which 5,314 are mild, 899 are asymptomatic, 2,326 are severe, and 587 are in critical condition.

According to the DOH, the new cases account for 1.4% of the 24,360 tests conducted on December 5.
Total recoveries increased to 2,772,728 after 871 more patients defeated the viral disease.
The death toll climbed to 49,591 with 92 new fatalities.
The DOH noted that of the 92 reported deaths, only three occurred in December 2021, while 18% of the reported deaths occurred in November 2021 due to late encoding of death information to COVIDKaya.
"This issue is currently being coordinated with the Epidemiology and Surveillance Units to ensure information is up to date," the DOH said.
The DOH also said six duplicates were removed, while 159 cases found to have tested negative have been removed from the total case count.
Meanwhile, 87 cases previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation.
The DOH said two laboratories were not operational on December 5, while six laboratories were not able to submit their data.
Latest data from the DOH also showed that 26% of the country’s intensive care unit beds are utilized, while 14% of the mechanical ventilators are also in use.
In Metro Manila, 29% of the ICU beds are utilized, while 16% of the ventilators are in use.—LDF, GMA News
