Philippines receives 3.6M COVID-19 vaccine doses


More than 3.6 million COVID-19 vaccine doses produced by Moderna and AstraZeneca were delivered to the Philippines on Friday.

The vaccine doses arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 via China Airlines flight before 10 a.m.

The latest supply consists of 3,646,600 vaccine doses, including 2,948,000 doses of the Moderna vaccine (2,102,000 government-procured; 846,000 purchased by the private sector) and 698,600 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine bought by the private sector.

As of December 8, government data showed that the Philippines has over 39.5 million fully vaccinated citizens. It has given out at least 94.2 million doses since mass immunization began on March 1. — VBL, GMA News
