Over 4.4 million COVID-19 vaccine doses arrive in the Philippines


Some 2,457,600 COVID-19 vaccine doses arrived in the country on Tuesday afternoon.

A total of 1,512,000 doses of Moderna donated by the French and Spanish governments via the COVAX Facility were welcomed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport past 4 p.m.

Meanwhile, 945,600 doses of the Janssen COVID-19 vaccine from the Dutch government also arrived.

A total of 2 million doses of Sinovac donated by the Chinese government also arrived at the NAIA Terminal 2 past 5 p.m.

The country is expected to receive over 8.2 million vaccine doses on Tuesday, the biggest single-day vaccine delivery so far.

More vaccine doses of Janssen are expected to arrive later in the day.

At least 54 million individuals have been inoculated with at least a single dose of COVID-19 vaccine.

The country has so far recorded 2,836,868 cases of COVID-19 including 2,775,991 recoveries and 50,351 deaths.—LDF, GMA News
