One Hospital Command still averaging just 200 calls a day

Amid the decreasing number of COVID-19 infections recorded each day, the One Hospital Command Center is receiving an average of 200 calls per day, the center's medical officer said on Friday.

At a Laging Handa public briefing, Dr. Marylaine Padlan said there was no specific trend on the number of calls, but it could be noted that it had decreased compared to the September numbers.

She said the calls included hospital requests, appeals for medical assistance, and inquiries on both COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 matters.

"Ngayon po medyo mas mababa, may araw na mas mataas 'yung non-COVID, may mga araw na pantay lang po 'yung ating COVID and non-COVID cases po," Padlan said.

(Right now there are a few calls. There days when there are more calls about non-COVID-19 matters. There are days when there equal number of calls over COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 concerns.)

"Naga-average po kami ng mga 200 plus na calls. Itong mga calls na ito mixture na ng mga bago, ng mga follow-up, ng mga inquiries, ng mga nagtatanong. Mayroon pa rin pong nagre-request ng hospital assistance," she added.

(We average about 200 calls. These calls are a mixture of new cases, follow-ups, inquiries. We still receive requests for hospital assistance.)

Padlan said calls related to COVID-19 mostly came from the National Capital Region, and Regions IV-A, III, and VI.

Call to the center first dropped to an average of 200 per day around October from the 400-500 per calls per day in September. — DVM, GMA News
