Pope Francis prays for Philippines after Typhoon Odette: 'May the Santo Niño bring consolation and hope'

Pope Francis expressed his concern for Filipinos after the onslaught of Typhoon Odette.

On Sunday, the Pope tweeted a message for those affected by the typhoon, adding the hashtag #PrayTogether.

"I express my closeness to the population of the Philippines, struck by a strong typhoon that has caused many deaths and destroyed so many homes," he wrote.

"May the 'Santo Niño' bring consolation and hope to the families of those most affected," he continued.

Typhoon Odette made its landfall in Siargao Thursday and has since caused calamity in various areas all over the country including Bohol, Cebu, Palawan, and Negros Oriental.
