Party-list groups which secured TRO vs delisting included in Eleksyon 2022 ballot –Comelec

The party-list groups which secured a temporary restraining order (TRO) on the Commission on Elections' (Comelec's) decision denying their accreditation will be listed on the ballot for the 2022 elections, Comelec Commissioner Rowena Guanzon said Friday.

Guanzon issued the statement with at least five party-lists securing a TRO from the Supreme Court:

  • Ang Tinig ng Seniors
  • Igorot Warriors International
  • Alliance for Resilience, Sustainability, and Empowerment (Arise)
  • Ugyon Mangunguma, Mangingisda Kag Mamumugon Nga Ilonggo (UMA ILONGGO), and
  • Ang Programang Aasenso Taumbayan-Dream Act, Participate, and Advocate for Sustainable Transformation (APAT-DAPAT).

The first three secured the TRO from the High Court last December 17, while the SC issued the TRO for the last two last December 22.

The SC issued the TROs after the poll body raffled the order of party-list groups on the 2022 elections ballot last December 14.

"No, we won't raffle party-list numbers again. If they win in the Supreme Court, Comelec will add their names in the ballot," Guanzon said in a statement posted on her Twitter account.

Guanzon, however, clarified that securing a TRO from the SC will not guarantee inclusion in the 2022 ballot since the poll body follows a timeline to be ready for the conduct of the May 2022 elections.

"Remember, we must have a final ballot face in December. Printing starts January 2 [2022]," she added.

There were 166 party-list groups that made it to the raffle, with Kalipunan ng Maralita at Malayang Mamamayan (Kamalayan) party-list securing the number one spot.

Rounding up the rest which secured the first 10 spots include:

  • Kilos Mamamayan Ngayon Na (KM Ngayong Na)
  • Philippine Society for Industrial Security (PSIS)
  • Agricultural Sectoral Alliance of the Philippines (AGAP)
  • Kabalikat ng Mamamayan (Kabayan)
  • Home Owners and Marginalized Empowerment through Opportunities with Neighborhood Economic Reliability (Home Owner)
  • Kabalikat Patungo sa Umuunlad na Sistematiko at Organisadong Pangkabuhayan Movement (Kapuso-PM)
  • PDP Cares Foundation, Incorporated (PDP Cares)
  • Noble Advancement of Marvelous People of the Philippines (Marvelous Tayo)
  • Advocates and Keepers Organization of OFWs, Inc. (AKO OFW).

In the Certified List of Candidates posted by the Comelec on Friday, the poll body included 171 party-list groups and left five vacant spots in the last part of the document. — with a report from Hana Bordey/DVM/VBL, GMA News
