PNP COVID-19 cases climb to 42,248


The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Saturday said two new COVID-19 cases were recorded among its personnel, driving up the total tally of coronavirus infections to 42,248.

Of this number, 14 are active, according to data from the PNP Health Service.

Recoveries went up to 42,109 after one new recovery was recorded.

The death toll meanwhile remained at 125.

The Philippines on Friday recorded 310 new COVID-19 cases bringing the nationwide tally to 2,838,032.

According to the Department of Health (DOH)’s latest bulletin, there were 9,321 active infections logged.

Total recoveries climbed to 2,777,661 with 227 new individuals defeating the viral illness.

The DOH reported 69 new fatalities, pushing the death tally to 51,050. —KG, GMA News
