De Venecia: Noli no capability to lead
Vice President Noli de Castro has no capability to lead the country, Speaker Jose de Venecia Jr, said on Tuesday. In an interview during the necrological services for former Bohol Rep. Venice Borja-Agana yesterday, De Venecia said de Castro still needs a lot of experience to keep pace with the performance of President Arroyo. ââ¬ÅAt present, there is no one who is qualified to succeed the president in the event that she would resign or ousted by the people, ââ¬Å he said. However, the Speaker described De Castro a ââ¬Ågood" vice president but still needs the experience if he wants to be a Palace successor. President Arroyoââ¬â¢s resignation has been continuously demanded by various sectors resulting from widespread allegations of cheating in the 2004 elections. But eventually, de Castro ââ¬Åwill be a good successor," he said. De Venecia also expressed optimism that the President will finish her term in 2010. He downplays anti-government demonstrations seeking President Arroyoââ¬â¢s resignation. De Venecia, however, advised the President not to be complacent and overconfident in the fight against corruption. GMANEWS.TV
