Lorenzana, Duque under quarantine after exposure to COVID-19 cases

Health Secretary Francisco Duque III and Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana on Tuesday both announced that they were under quarantine after being exposed to COVID-19 cases.

Duque revealed that he got exposed to one of his staff who tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday.

“I am in quarantine since I got exposed to my staff who tested positive last Friday,” Duque revealed during his report on President Rodrigo Duterte’s Talk to the People.

“So bukas po magpapa-test ako (Tomorrow, I will take the test) and hopefully, negative. I’ll be under quarantine until the (January) 8th or 10 days in all,” he added.

Lorenzana said he was under quarantine after four members of his household tested positive.

“Hindi po ako nakadalaw diyan na-expose ako sa COVID-19. Apat na tao sa bahay namin ang positive,” Lorenzana said.

(I was not able to visit there, I was exposed to COVID-19, four people in our house were positive for COVID-19.)

Lorenzana also tested positive for COVID-19 last November and April 2021.

Meanwhile, the country on Tuesday recorded 5,434 additional COVID-19 infections, bringing the total tally to 2,861,119. —NB, GMA News
