39 personnel tested positive for COVID-19 since beginning of the year — DOJ


Thirty-nine personnel of the Department of Justice (DOJ) have so far tested positive for COVID-19 since the beginning of the year, data from the DOJ showed.

According to the DOJ, 35 of these are active cases while four have recovered.

The DOJ has reported a total of 741 confirmed COVID-19 cases since the beginning of the pandemic.

Meanwhile, a total of 6,106 employees or 97.63% have been vaccinated against the illness as of January 6.

Of this, 6,064 or 96.96% have been fully vaccinated while 42 or 0.67% have received at least one dose.

The Philippines earlier logged 17,220 new COVID-19 cases, the highest daily infections recorded since September 28, 2021.

This brought the nationwide tally to 2,888,917. — RSJ, GMA News
