PNP COVID-19 cases climb to 43,288

The number of COVID-19 cases among personnel of the Philippine National Police (PNP) went up to 43,288 after 240 new infections were reported on Sunday.

Active cases totaled 1,455, data from the PNP Health Service showed.

Meanwhile, 10 cases recovered, pushing the number of total recoveries up to 41,708.

The death toll on the other hand remained at 125.

The Philippines on Saturday recorded 26,458 new COVID-19 cases, the highest daily tally since the start of pandemic, bringing the nationwide COVID-19 tally to 2,936,875. 

The previous highest daily case count reported was 26,303 last September 11, 2021.

As of Saturday, total recoveries were at 2,782,723 cases, while the death toll rose to 52,135.

A total of 102,017 cases meanwhile remain active. —KG, GMA News
