A combination of diligent review and tons of prayers proved to be the key for the Cebu-based medicine student to top this year's February Physician Licensure Examination. Visayas-based Bombo Radyo reported Friday that Edilfabia Uy of Cebu Doctors University still could not believe she bested the 1,985 medicine students who took the licensure examination. Out of the total number of examinees who took the test, 1,985 passed. Uy said she studied hard and - like many students taking licensure examinations - prayed hard for the exam, seeking the intervention of many saints, just to get decent marks in the test. She said she did not expect to top the examination. Uy, 26, a resident of Tagbilaran in Bohol province and the eldest of three siblings, got an 86.33-percent rating. "Ang mensahe ko sa mga kukuha ng exams sa susunod ay mag-aral ng mabuti, maniwala sa Diyos at magdasal palagi dahil wala namang imposible sa Kanya (My message to future examinees is to study hard and believe in God, and pray always.
