CHED chair De Vera says he tested positive for COVID-19

Commission on Higher Education (CHED) chairperson Prospero De Vera III said Thursday that he tested positive for COVID-19.

At the Laging Handa public briefing on Thursday. De Vera said his entire family has been infected by the virus. “Ako ay naka-quarantine sa bahay at ang aking buong pamilya ay infected (I am under quarantine and my entire family has been infected).

In a Facebook post on January 6, De Vera advised those who had contact with him to go on self-quarantine, monitor for any symptoms, and get tested.

“I am currently experiencing mild symptoms,” he said.

According to De Vera, he received his booster shot against COVID-19 on January 3.        

On Wednesday, De Vera said his condition has been improving gradually.

But according to him, he continues to do his CHED duties. —LBG, GMA News
