Robredo, Pacquiao, Lacson, Moreno describe events, issues in one word


How do presidential aspirants describe events and issues in one word?

During the Jessica Soho Presidential Interviews aired on Saturday, Vice President Leni Robredo, Senators Manny Pacquiao and Panfilo Lacson, and Manila Mayor Isko Moreno were asked to describe each of the photos shown to them. 

On the photo of Kian Delos Santos, a victim of police abuse, Lacson described it as “hustisya” (justice),  Moreno said “panagutan” (accountability), Pacquiao said “kawawa” (pitiful), while Robredo said “nakakadurog” (heartbreaking).

On the photo of typhoon-hit Siargao, Moreno described it as “bilis kilos” (fast action), Pacquiao said “kawawa” (miserable), Robredo described it as “devastation,” while Lacson said “kawawa” (miserable).

Pacquiao described the image of the Philippine flag as “bandila ng Pilipinas” (Philippine flag), Robredo said “pagka-Pilipino” (Filipino identity), Lacson said “igalang” (respect), while Moreno said “mahal ko” (my love).

On the photo of a student taking an online class, Robredo said “education,” Lacson described it as “helpless,” Moreno said “persevere,” while Pacquiao called it “pagasa” (hope).

On the picture of students crossing a river, Lacson said “corruption,” Moreno said “imprastraktura” (infrastructure), Pacquiao said “hirap” (difficult), while Robredo said “kahirapan” (poor).

As for the image of President Rodrigo Duterte, Moreno called him a “leader,” Pacquiao answered “pangulo” (president), Robredo said “president of the Philippines,” while Lacson said “sayang” (loss).

On COVID-19, Robredo described it as “COVID”, Lacson said “tapusin” (finish), Moreno said “threat,” and Pacquiao said “salot” (menace).

On Malacañang photo, Moreno described it as “presidente" (president), Pacquiao said “Malacañang,” Robredo said “seat of power,” and Lacson said “public servant.”

For the Pharmally Pharmaceutical Corporation logo, Pacquiao said “company,” Robredo described it as “corruption,” Lacson said “abuso” (abuse), while Moreno said “corruption.”

On the photo of fishermen in Scarborough Shoal, Robredo described it as “naabuso” (abused), Lacson said “tulungan” (help), Moreno said “hanapbuhay” (livelihood), and Pacquiao said “protektahan” (protect).

On the photo of a malnourished child, Lacson said “iling lang walang masabi” (I’m speechless), Moreno said “health,” Pacquiao said “tulungan” (help), and Robredo described it as “malnutrisyon” (malnutrition).

For the flag of the United States of America, Moreno described it as “allies,” Pacquiao said “America,” Robredo said “American flag,” and Lacson said “Pilipinas” (Philippines).

For the flag of China, Pacquiao said “China,” Robredo said “Chinese flag,” Lacson exclaimed “naku,” and Moreno said “trade partner.”
