PNP COVID-19 cases increase to 47,334 with 169 new infections

The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Monday reported 169 new cases COVID-19 among its personnel, bringing the total tally to 47,334.

According to the PNP, 44,192 of these infections have already recovered from the disease while 3,016 are still active cases.

The death toll among policemen due to COVID-19 remained at 126.

Meanwhile, a total of 217,469 (96.55%) of its personnel are already fully vaccinated against COVID-19, while 6,738 (2.99%) are still awaiting their second dose. A total of 72,003 personnel (33.11%) have received booster shots.

Meanwhile, 1,032 (0.46%) of PNP personnel have yet to be vaccinated.

On Sunday, the Department of Health reported 29,828 new cases of COVID-19, pushing the country's active infections to 273,580. The death toll due to the disease climbed to 53,472 with 67 new fatalities. —Joviland Rita/KBK, GMA News
