Around 22K workers applied so far for cash aid —DOLE exec

About 22,000 workers have so far applied for the Department of Labor and Employment's cash aid program, an official said Thursday.

This was disclosed by Labor Assistant Secretary Dominique Tutay at a Laging Handa public briefing. The DOLE had allotted P1 billion for the financial assistance under the COVID Adjustment Measure Program (CAMP) 2022.

"More than 5,000 po dito ay na-approve na based on the evaluation of our regional offices, around 12,000 naman po 'yung for evaluation and then more than 4,000 po 'yung for further verification po," Tutay said, noting that the data is as of Wednesday, January 26.

(More than 5,000 applications have already been approved based on the evaluation of regional offices, around 12,000 are still for evaluation while more than 4,000 are for further verification.)

Workers qualified for the cash aid are those who lost their jobs due to the permanent closure of their companies and employees whose work was suspended due to the temporary closure of their employers' businesses under Alert Level 3.

The one-time P5,000 cash assistance is seen to benefit more or less 200,000 workers.

Affected workers can apply for the CAMP 2022 financial assistance through the DOLE Establishment Reporting System (ERS) at https://reports.dole.gov.ph. —LBG, GMA News
