Reunions at airport as Filipinos return to eased quarantine protocols

Several returning overseas Filipinos become emotional after finally seeing their families upon arriving at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

According to Chino Gaston's report on "24 Oras" on Tuesday, the OFWs finally decided to come home after the Philippine government dropped the mandatory facility-based quarantine requirement for international travelers and ROFs who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

International travelers and ROFs, however, must present a negative RT-PCR test taken within 48 hours before departure from their country of origin.

They must also self-monitor for seven days from the date of arrival.

"Excited talaga noong na-lift 'yong quarantine, eksakto na na-rebook ako ng ganoong date so blessing talaga," Janice Cruz said.

Some of the ROFs were fetched by their families.

The new policy took effect starting February 1. — DVM, GMA News
