Lacson open to legalization of marijuana for medical purposes

Presidential aspirant and Senator Panfilo Lacson said he is open to the legalization of marijuana but only for medicinal purposes.

“Basta medicinal at hindi pang-entertainment,” Lacson said in a radio interview Wednesday.

(I am open to legalizing the use of marijuana for medicinal purposes, not entertainment.)

He noted that some states have allowed the use of cannabis in treating some diseases.

“Kailangan may proseso rito e. Sa ibang bansa naman ginagawa na nila ‘yan. So ako bukas ang aking isipan, katunayan supportive ako dito kung ito ay isasabatas. Maganda na rin ito para makatulong sa kalusugan ng ating mga mamamayan,” he added.

(The proper processes must be followed. I am keeping an open mind on it. I am even supportive of the idea. Once the appropriate law is passed, this will be good for our people's health.)
