PNP COVID-19 cases climb to 48,567

The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Sunday recorded 32 new COVID-19 infections among its personnel, bringing its total coronavirus infections to 48,567.

Of this number, 684 are active cases, according to the data of the PNP Health Service.

The death toll meanwhile remained at 127.

The recoveries stood at 47,756 after 119 more PNP personnel recovered from the viral disease.

The Philippines on Saturday logged 7,689 new COVID-19 cases, taking the nationwide tally to 3,601,471.

The Department of Health reported that 136,436 of these cases are active.

There were 22,539 more patients nationwide who recovered from the respiratory disease, bringing the total to 3,410,821.

The number of deaths also climbed to 54,214 after reporting only one fatality. —Giselle Ombay/KG, GMA News
