Jose Montemayor Jr. to launch presidential campaign in Pasay City

Presidential aspirant and cardiologist Dr. Jose Montemayor Jr. on Monday announced that he will officially begin his Eleksyon 2022 campaign in Pasay City on Tuesday.

With his official presidential campaign dubbed “Sa gabay ng Diyos, ang Bansa ay aayos," Montemayor said that his proclamation will be a “classic example of faith-based approach” to glorify God.

“We will launch the greatest campaign to glorify the Lord, our God—make every Filipino accountable, responsible in the sight of the Lord, make every Filipino an instrument of goodness and instrument of progress,” he said.

Montemayor’s camp noted that he will hold his proclamation event at 5 p.m.

It will be attended by other aspirants from his political party Democratic Party of the Philippines, and several pastors from different churches.

The venue can also accommodate a hundred attendees with no vaccination status nor testing required.

Montemayor vowed to eliminate COVID-19, corruption, and criminality when he filed his certificate of candidacy for president in Eleksyon 2022 in October 2021.

“Our country can only make strides in health, economy, and welfare by being close with the Lord. Proclaiming Christ as our Lord all over the Philippines will make our country not only a great nation but one that is economically progressive, spiritually prepared, and in a comprehensive manner, all aspects of governance will be practiced and deployed,” Montemayor said.

“By abiding by spiritual principles of the bible, we can make our nation great and powerful just like the other nations. If we rest in the Lord, nothing is impossible,” he added.

Based on the Comelec’s calendar of activities for Eleksyon 2022, the campaign period for candidates for president, vice president, senator, and party-lists will start on February 8. — BM, GMA News
