Palace thanks public over rise in Duterte's satisfaction rating

Malacañang on Friday expressed gratitude to the public over President Rodrigo Duterte's 60% net satisfaction rating based on the recent Social Weather Stations (SWS) polls, mirroring the President's commitment to public service.

Acting presidential spokesperson Karlo Alexei Nograles cited Duterte's 60% net satisfaction rating at the end of 2021 which is higher than his 52% net satisfaction rating in September 2021 SWS poll.

"Kami po ay lubos na nagpapasalamat sa sambayanang Pilipino sa tiwala, patuloy na suporta nila kay Pangulong Duterte. I think this is unprecedented," Nograles said in state-run Radyo Pilipinas interview.

(We are really grateful and thankful to the public for their continued trust and support to the President.)

"He has this rating with six months to go before the end of his term, and the President will pay it forward by serving the people until the end of his term. He will do what is best for the greatest number [of people]," Nograles added.

Nograles then said that the President will leave office on June 30, 2022 with a solid legacy, citing the passage of laws on free irrigation, free college education in state-run universities and colleges, universal healthcare, Bangsamoro region and responsive COVID-19 measures.

"The next administration will have 90 million Filipinos fully vaccinated against COVID-19, and we hope that by the end of his term, COVID-19 is over and we will have a new normal," Nograles added.

Nograles was referring to the government target of vaccinating 90 million Filipinos against COVID-19 by the end of the President's term.
