3.4 million Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine doses arrive


More than three million doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine donated by the United States government through the COVAX facility arrived in the Philippines on Thursday night.

The fresh batch of 3,436,290 vaccine doses landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2 past 11 p.m.

The country earlier received an additional 780,000 government-procured Pfizer-BioNTech doses formulated for children aged 5 to 11.

According to the National Vaccination Operations Center (NVOC), the country has administered a total 128,571,061 of COVID-19 vaccine doses nationwide as of February 4.

The NVOC said at least 60,659,350 first doses have been administered, while 59,899,717 individuals were fully vaccinated and 8,011,994 were booster shots.
