PNP COVID-19 death toll now at 128


The death toll due to COVID-19 in the Philippine National Police (PNP) has climbed to 128 on Friday after one more personnel died due to the disease.

Based on the PNP data, 24 more personnel tested positive for COVID-19, which brought the total cases in the police organization to 48,700.

A total of 48,249 have already recovered, while 323 are still active cases.

Meanwhile, a total of 219,412 (97.57%) of PNP personnel are already fully vaccinated against COVID-19; 4,647 (2.07%) are still awaiting their second dose; and 102,747 (46.83%) have received booster shots.

The PNP said 816 (0.36%) personnel have yet to be vaccinated.

On Thursday, the Department of Health reported 4,575 new COVID-19 cases, pushing the country’s total cases to 3,627,575. Of the number, 93,307 are active cases

With 94 new fatalities, the death toll in the Philippine due to the disease climbed to 54,783. — Joviland Rita/RSJ, GMA News
