Philippines receives 780K doses of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for ages 5 to 11


The Philippines on Wednesday received a total of 780,000 doses of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for minors aged 5 to 11.

According to the National Task Force (NTF) Against COVID-19, the latest batch of government-procured vaccine through the World Bank landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 past 9 p.m.

The pilot rollout of COVID-19 vaccination for five to 11 years old in the country started in the National Capital Region (NCR) on Monday, February 7.

The country earlier received 780,000 doses of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for children aged 5 to 11 last February 10.

Based on the National Vaccination Operations Center (NVOC), the country has administered a total of 128,700,168 of COVID-19 vaccine doses nationwide as of February 9.

The NVOC said at least 60,674,767 first doses have been administered, while 60,013,407 individuals were fully vaccinated and 8,011,994 were booster shots.

The country started its vaccination program in March 2021. -- BAP, GMA News
