OVP request to continue pandemic projects raffled to ponente –Comelec's Inting

The office of Commission on Elections (Comelec) acting chairperson Socorro Inting on Monday said the Office of the Vice President's request that they be allowed to continue with their pandemic response even during the campaign period had been raffled to a ponente.

In a Viber message to reporters, Inting's office said: "It was already raffled to a ponente. We're just waiting po [for the] resolution of [the] ponencia."

The request was raffled last February 7, Inting's office added.

The acting chairperson's office, however, did not disclose the ponente.

The OVP had filed a petition before the Comelec to allow the office to continue the pandemic response at the start of the campaign period last February 8.

Vice President Leni Robredo said she wanted to isolate the programs from politics thus she would not be present in the activities.

The OVP's COVID-19 initiatives were temporarily suspended while they waited for the poll body's decision on whether the pandemic response would be allowed to continue during the campaign period.

The programs included the Bayanihan E-Consulta, vaccine express, swab cab, and medical assistance program. — DVM, GMA News
