PNP has filed obstruction of justice complaints vs. cockfight arena personnel —Dela Rosa

Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa on Thursday said the Philippine National Police (PNP) has filed complaints of obstruction of justice against the management personnel of cockfight arenas involved in the disappearance of at least 31 sabungeros.

At the Senate hearing of the Committee on Public Order and Dangerous Drugs, Dela Rosa said that these arena personnel were not cooperative with the PNP.

“In fact, the PNP has filed already several cases of obstruction to justice. At sana kung in-snub nga yung PNP, dapat itong Committtee natin ay hindi nila i-snub-in,” Dela Rosa said.

(In fact, the PNP has filed already several cases of obstruction of justice. If they really snubbed the PNP, they should not do it with this Committee.)

Dela Rosa made the statement when Senator Aquilino ‘“Koko” Pimentel expressed support for filing a motion to force the security personnel of involved arenas to attend the next hearing.

Lucky Star 8 Quest Inc. president Angelo Niño Santos committed to the Senate panel that he will bring the security personnel next hearing.

The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group confirmed to GMA News Online that the group filed an obstruction of justice complaint against a person associated with the case of missing people.

She added that they heard reports that some local police also filed four similar complaints in Sta. Cruz. Laguna. But, she said they are still gathering more information about these complaints. — BM, GMA News
