7 cops face complaints over e-sabong —PNP

The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Tuesday said that it has filed complaints against seven cops who were involved in e-sabong.

“As of February 21, meron na po tayo ng pito na nasampahan ng kaso dahil nga po sa kanilang involvement dito sa e-sabong,” PNP spokesperson Police Colonel Jean Fajardo said in an interview on Dobol B TV.

The total number came from the records of the Directorate for Investigation and Detective Management  (DIDM) from January 1 to February 21 this year.

Three of these cops are assigned at Police Regional Office 4A, one from the regional office in Bicol, one from Eastern Visayas, one from the Highway Patrol Group, and one from the National Capital Region.

The police officers from PRO4A are facing an administrative complaint of unbecoming of a police officer for failing to comply with any lawful order of a superior officer and act or behavior of a police officer, among others.

Meanwhile, the other cops were slapped with an administrative case of grave misconduct, the PNP added.

Police Staff Sergeant Jeffrey Cabelin of PRO8 has been suspended for 60 days; Police Staff Sergeant Hason Togana Jr. from the HPG was penalized with a six-month suspension; and Police Corporal Moises Yango was dismissed from the PNP service.—AOL, GMA News
