Marcos vows to increase teachers’ salary if he wins in Eleksyon 2022

Should he win in the 2022 presidential race, former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. vowed to increase the salaries of teachers.

Marcos on Friday said the programs and reforms for teachers would uplift their quality of life and will inspire them to provide the highest quality of service and teaching to their students.

“We need to provide our teachers with all the necessary support because they are the ones molding our young students to become better, responsible and productive citizens who in turn would become the country’s future leaders,” Marcos said in a press release.

Aside from the increase in salaries, Marcos also promised to provide free training and scholarships to their children.

When he was still a senator, Marcos pushed for a higher salary for teachers with Senate Bill 3016 or the Public School Teacher’s Salary Upgrading Act.

The bill did not prosper, prompting Marcos to file Senate Bill 109 also seeking higher salary for teachers.—AOL, GMA News
