Duterte tells Inday Sara: Be true to country, work hard for Pinoys

CEBU CITY —President Rodrigo Duterte told his daughter, vice presidential aspirant Sara Duterte, to be true in serving the country.

A recorded short video message of the President was played before television host Willie Revillame serenaded the younger Duterte in an event in Cebu City on Friday evening.

“‘Day, be true to your country. Work hard for the people,” President Duterte said.

“The rewards may be… are there in heaven. Trabaho ka lang. I love you,” he added.

The Davao City mayor is the running mate of presidential aspirant Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

Mayor Sara earlier said they were hoping that her father will support her and Marcos’ candidacy.

The President, for his part, has said he wants to stay neutral on the matter. He has not made any endorsement yet for president for Eleksyon 2022.

In an earlier ambush interview in Liloan, Mayor Sara said her last discussion with her father about politics was in August 2021

“We did not discuss politics since August of last year,” Mayor Duterte said.—LDF, GMA News
