Manila Cathedral prepares for arrival of St. Therese's relics


Manila archbishop Gaudencio Cardinal Rosales and the Archdiocese of Manila will roll out the red carpet to welcome the relics of St. Therese at the Manila Cathedral on March 8. The Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) said Rosales will lead a mass to welcome the relics at the Manila Cathedral in Manila's Intramuros district at 11 a.m. After the mass, the public veneration of the relics will begin at the Blessed Sacrament Chapel of the Manila Cathedral. Vespers will be said at the main church. On Sunday, March 9, Bishop Rolando Tria-Tirona will lead the lauds and Eucharistic celebration for religious men and women at 6:30 a.m., while Caloocan Bishop Deogracias Iñiguez, Jr. will celebrate a Mass at 8:30 a.m. Novaliches Bishop Antonio Tobias will lead the next mass at 11 a.m. while Parañaque Bishop Jesse Mercado will preside over the next mass scheduled at noontime. Pasig Bishop Francisco San Diego will celebrate Mass at 6 p.m. Archdiocese of Manila liturgist Fr. Genaro Diwa will lead the solemn vespers and exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and deliver a short presentation on St. Therese at 7:30 p.m. Public veneration will end at 6 a.m. of Monday, March 10. Rosales will lead the closing Eucharistic celebration at 9 a.m., before the relics are brought to the Shrine of St. Therese at Villamor Air Base at 10 a.m. - GMANews.TV
