Pacquiao blasts Bongbong: Corruption not ‘normal’

Presidential candidate Senator Emmanuel “Manny” Pacquiao called out former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Monday over his remarks that corruption in the government cannot be stopped because it is a “human condition”.

Mahirap iyon,” said Pacquiao in a media interview in Silang, Cavite.

(He said stealing is normal? That’s not the case for me. Imagine, you will feed your family with money you stole? That’s hard.)

In a taped interview with PTV-4 over the weekend, Marcos Jr. explained corruption is unstoppable because there will always be people who would commit wrongdoings. However, he said it can be shunned by choosing the right individuals to hold government posts.

“’Yung corruption, talagang hindi matitigil yan. Dahil as I keep reminding everyone, corruption is not a Filipino condition, it is a human condition,” he said.

Pacquiao, for his part, reiterated he will stop corruption under his administration and said Filipinos will witness “Godly leadership” should he win in the Eleksyon 2022.

Kaiinangan natin disiplinahin natin.

(Like what I am always saying, if you will give me six years, I will show you what Godly leadership means. We will fix the government for all of us to develop. We will also shoe discipline because that’s what our country needs.)—LDF, GMA News
