Pacquiao pushes for P50K minimum wage for frontliners

Presidential candidate Senator Manny Pacquiao on Tuesday proposed raising the minimum wage salary of frontliners to a minimum of P50,000 following the crisis brought by the COVID-19 pandemic.

(Our frontliners are very miserable and they are receiving minimal from the government. So I'm pushing, should I win, that the minimum wage of our frontliners, nurses be P50,000 immediately.)

Aside from the increase in salary of frontliners, Pacquiao said he will boost the government's COVID-19 vaccination program.

However, he said his government will not force the people to take their vaccination.

Ayaw nating pilitin ang bawat isa na magpa-vaccine, o kagustuhan nila 'yon," he said.

(We have to push for the vaccination program so that people will have the confidence against the sickness, but we will not force them. We do not want to force anyone to take their vaccination, it is their choice.)

Pacquiao said he will retain the policy on wearing masks. — RSJ, GMA News
