Around 87.2% of 2022 polls ballots printed —Comelec
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Thursday said 87.2% of the ballots that will be used for the 2022 elections have already been printed.
“As of today, we are able to print already 58,838,453 of the 67,442,616 ballots that we will be using in the 2022 national and local elections,” Comelec Commissioner George Garcia said at a press conference.
“The 58 million something represents 87.2% of the total number of ballots that we are supposed to print,” he added.
Of the over 58 million ballots, Garcia said 39,433,714 passed the highest quality control and verification.
The number of defective ballots are 105,853 representing 0.18% of the total ballots, which is lower than the 0.19% record on March 21.
According to Garcia, vote counting machines are 61.7% ready for dispatch, external batteries at 91.09%, transmission devices at 100%, and consolidation and canvassing systems at 55.54%.
The Comelec has opened the doors of the National Printing Office (NPO) to show the ballot printing process to various election stakeholders.—AOL, GMA News
